Crack the Code with Stella Orange

To: Service providers, trainers, coaches, business owners, health professionals, and heart-based entrepreneurs on a mission to help more people AND make a great living doing it…

At last! Get the inside scoop on writing web copy that moves people to sign up for your programs, register for your calls, and buy your products-minus the sleaze and sales hooplah.

(What a relief!)

Hello business owner,

  • Do you have a website that isn’t selling?
  • Is your website pretty—but it isn’t helping people register for your calls and programs, or helping them buy your product?
  • Are you spending too much time filling programs with prospective clients one-by-one, running yourself ragged in the process?
  • Are you writing your own marketing and web copy—and you getting a ho-hum response?

Look, it’s not as easy many of the Names-We-All-Know-And-Get-Emails-From would lead you to believe. There ARE some fundamental things you need to know before you can inspire people to fill your programs and buy your products online. But it’s also not as HARD or as BIG as it may seem right now.

“Find out how to write so people want to work with and buy from you. This is the #1 skill your online marketing efforts live or die by!”

You are invited to a backstage tour of what you need to know about writing to move readers to action. Because I run my own business, too, and I know that most of the time, you can figure things out yourself if you have help untangling what you seeing other coaches and experts do…

…especially when you get your questions answered by someone who has “been around the block” a few more times.

That’s why I decided to share how to make your website part of your sales pipeline.

(Did I just hear a groan?

Yes, I said “sales.” Let’s pause a moment here, because I want to check in with you. Do you need revenue from your business to pay the bills?

If your answer is yes, please read on. I know that there are many service professionals and coaches who are passionate about their mission and just KNOW IN THEIR BONES that they are on the planet to serve and help people. I’m one of them.

But when it comes to making money doing it, we get a little skittish.

Does this sound familiar?

One of the reasons I believe so many of us feel conflicted about serving AND making money doing it is that we have “limiting beliefs.” We are stuck in thinking that you are either a kind, compassionate person who really cares, OR you are an empty, shallow, money-grubbing meanie.)

“When you meet someone in person, you are charming. Why can’t your web page be just as thoughtful, uplifting and real as that?”

Back to your sales pipeline. You don’t have to be sleazy or fake. When you talk with people on the phone or in-person, and they’re interested in your work, you aren’t acting like a used car salesman in a tacky polyester suit, right?

And when you check in with them later, you’re not pushy or slimy, are you?

(I didn’t think so!)

So why would your website and online marketing be any different?

Once you know the strategies, it’s all about style.

A lot of business owners and service professionals fall short in getting people to register for their programs and calls (or webcasts or telesummits), or fail to get people buying their products. Not because they aren’t good at what they do. Not because they aren’t offering real value. Not because they aren’t selling something of high-quality that enriches people’s lives.

No, these business owners just haven’t used words in a way that sings to people.

So their website doesn’t sell.

If you want visitors to your website to take ACTION (whether it’s to sign up for your enewsletter, or register for your teleseminar, or buy your ebook), you need to use words on your website in a certain way.

AND you need to change the way you write about what you do.

The real secret to online marketing…

It’s not a fancy website. It’s not having a gazillion people on your mailing list. It’s not SEO.

The real secret to winning at the online marketing game, is knowing how to write.

Because on the web, writing is essentially “talking”.

And so if you are going to move people to take action online, you’ve got to know the basics about something called direct response copywriting.

Direct response copywriting is the grandmama of selling. Back in the day before there were websites and email, copywriters wrote ads and sent letters. The words they wrote – the copy – was “salesmanship in print.”

And they could figure out how well that copy worked by measuring the response. How many people sent in for a free brochure. Or how many people called the company for an offer.

Today, on our websites and in our emails, we continue to use words to get people to take action. Only now, it’s “salesmanship in pixels.” ;)

So here’s the catch: if you don’t use basic techniques from direct response copywriting when you write about your product or latest program, you are missing out on clients, customers, and sales.

“Before working with Stephanie, I was somewhat at a loss in putting together copy for my website pages. I could create the content, but not in a way that someone with the perspective that she takes when putting together copy. Her perspective takes what’s important and of value about your business and mixes in your own personal appeal, so your viewers get a personal feel about you from viewing your site.
