We’re Hiring a Client Concierge Who Wants To Help Good People Positively Impact Tens of Thousands of Families, Neighborhoods and Communities

Are you already pinching yourself? Pinch on. It’s true. We’re hiring a Client Concierge.

Who You Are
You are a hardworking, attention-detailed customer service pro who delights in treating strangers like friends and solving problems like a ninja. You may be tired of stuffy jobs that aren’t much fun. You are ready to work for a business that makes a difference and cares about people.

You could be an admin type or executive assistant who loves looking after people and organizing projects and tasks. You are an organizing, nurturing force of nature, without being obsessive about it. You’re ready to join a fun, creative team and keep things orderly and moving forward, with a kind, human, maybe even quirky, touch.

About Stella Orange

Stella Orange is a company that’s here to help business owners express themselves with more boldness and personality. Because we know that when they do that, they stand out and more people want to work with them. We’ve been in business for 6 years and are in it for the long haul. It’s a profitable company that believes in freedom, good work, and business as an adventure.

We started in 2009 and are small, virtual team. We serve hundreds of clients a year around the globe. We’ve got a little bit of a cult following online, which is how we like it. We aren’t for everyone, but our clients, friends and fans really like us and the community we are growing. Many of them stick around for years, and consider themselves clients for life.

There’s one thing we insist on from everyone who works with us, and that’s a fit with our culture. Read our Culture Manifesto – if you find yourself nodding and getting really excited, you’d probably be right up our alley and love your work with us.

First, let me sell you on working here, and then I’ll tell you more about the position.

How You’ll Work at Stella Orange

We’re all about balancing great work with a great life. Along with doing the work, we value flexibility, taking time off, and creating a life that pleases you. We take this really seriously. Here’s how we roll:

Virtual

We are a team that works in Florida, Oregon, and Ohio (from our homes). We’re big on Skype and video conferencing to stay connected. We meet when we need to, to kick off a project or work through an issue. Sometimes, Stella runs the business from her brother’s basement in Sweden. It’s all about the reliable internet connection.

Take Time Off

We believe that a healthy dose of not-working actually makes the time you do work more enjoyable and productive. We don’t expect you to work nights or weekends. Sometimes that happens, but it’s not the norm. We take time off to travel, do meditation retreats, and take road trips with the kids.

It’s All About the Freedom

One of the biggest reasons we all work for ourselves is that we love our freedom. We take freedom seriously. This means that, so long as you communicate proactively and often, get your work done, and are enjoyable to work with, it’s all good.

Do Awesome Things

We like to work with people who are up to interesting things outside of work. Yep, we’re talking extracurricular activities. Might be travel. Might be community work. Maybe it’s keeping your kids alive and out of jail. Maybe it’s cooking. We just think it’s cool to work with folks who have a passion for their own lives.

Our Clients are Amazing

The people we work with are in service-based or idea-based businesses. They are coaches, teachers, artists, healers, and helpers. They do good work. They help people. They are changing the conversation and the culture in really positive ways.

We’re all about helping these folks make more of an impact and reach more people, so we help them find the words that resonate with great clients. We want their ideas to win. It’s pretty amazing to go to work every day, knowing that you are helping spread ideas that make a difference in the world. This is huge. Don’t overlook this one!

Okay, so that’s how we roll. Now, here’s more about the gig…

Part Time Client Concierge

Our Client Concierge is the “front of the house” contact person, scheduling appointments, handling billing, setting up online classes and meetings, answering emails, filing, managing administrative duties and details, and taking good care of our clients around the world. We’re looking for someone who instinctively knows how to deliver first-class client service, pick up the phone and reach out, and keep projects moving forward in the business.

About You…

You care about people. By nature, you organize things. You like systems and details, but you aren’t obsessive. You can roll with the punches; you just like to run a tight ship. You love Stella Orange, and the thought of combining your skills and working at a place like this has you tingly and fired up. You’re also a fan of technology and the idea of working with change agents around the world fascinates you.

You’re our person if:

  • You love helping people and solving problems.
  • You like to fix things that aren’t working well. It’s actually fun for you.
  • Your interpersonal skills are exceptional, and people often tell you how much the like you.
  • You love being a member of a team. You give constructive feedback and embrace it to improve your own skills.
  • You like to learn new things. You love diving into a good challenge.
  • You are technically savvy. You know your way around the internet and your smartphone. You’re constantly looking for ways to work more efficiently and effectively. Since you’ll be working online, you’ll need to understand how to set up, navigate and troubleshoot different programs behind the scenes, and explain it to others who aren’t as comfortable using technology as you are.
  • You’re sharp on your feet. Since running classes online involves chat, messages, and helping people who can’t get into a class sort out their tech issues, your attitude is “bring it on!” You’re fine with things come at you from multiple directions, and problem-solving on the spot.
  • You are comfortable making decisions on your own.
  • You can work from home (or someplace quiet) during regular business hours and have a reliable computer, smartphone, and fast internet connection.
  • You can travel a couple times a year to support Stella running in-person events.
  • You can show empathy.
  • People love working with you. You’re kind, flexible, and adaptive. You love to learn, and you work to improve yourself and your corner of the world. It’s just who you are.

Hours

We are looking for someone who can work 6-10 hours a week. Since this position supports our clients, you need to be available during regular business hours (we’re on the East Coast). There may be times when you need to be available on a weeknight or weekend for an hour or two. You’ve got that flexibility in your schedule, and are okay with this from time to time.

Pay

Pay will be determined based on experience. Initially, this will be a position paid hourly, between $18 and $22 an hour. But we are looking to build a long-term relationship with an awesome person who will stick around for years, so once we feel like we know you, you will be paid on monthly retainer.

Sound like a great fit? We look forward to hearing from you!

How to apply

Apply here by April 15, 2015 (be sure to read the detailed steps on that page).

Know someone who would be a great fit for this position? Please do us a favor and let them know we’re looking. Please also feel free to share this page with your networks. Thank you!
