Coaches, creatives and professionals—is your homepage attracting people who aren’t ideal clients?
News flash! — You may be REPELLING ideal clients from your homepage because your copy screams CHEAP.
(So let’s turn that around right now!)
“The Secret Language of Gourmet Clients:
What to write on your homepage so you attract high-paying clients who happily pay you premium rates”
Part I - TRAINING Wed, Jan 14th @ 7pm ET & Part II - Website Makeovers Thu, Jan 15th @ 7pm ET
What if your homepage attracted people you LOVE working with? By the time you got them on the phone, they’d already convinced themselves that you’re the one to help them. Your conversation was about the result they wanted – that you knew you could help them get – and the only question was “when do we start?”
This isn’t some fantasy – it happens to me all the time. I rarely have to “sell” people into my production labs, because it’s clear on my homepage what I’m about and the results I help my clients get.
I didn’t always write in this way.
When I started out six years ago, my homepage attracted people who weren’t a great fit for my business. People who didn’t want to spend money. People who ignored my advice. People took up WAY more time than they paid me for. (Maybe you can relate?)
I learned the hard way that you have WAY MORE CONTROL over the clients you attract into your business. And the words you use either tell people that you are doing quality work and worth the investment… or not. And?
It all starts with your homepage.
Your homepage is the start of a great conversation. It’s what potential clients see when they “check you out” online… and it’s also the place where your list-building starts. So it’s vital that your homepage signals that you don’t work with anyone with a pulse and credit card.
(Because you DON’T just work with anyone… do you?)
But…
If you use words like “struggle” and “overwhelm” on your homepage, you won’t attract great clients
Too often, business owners are told to use words — like struggle, overwhelm, stuck, and broke — that actually connect with the exact sorts of people you DON’T want to work with! People who are low-action, low-trust, even low-integrity. People who shop based on price, not value. People who aren’t really invested. People who are a pain to work with — and who nickle and dime you, every step of the way.
The other problem pops up when you’ve been in business awhile, and you get plenty of referrals and clients from word-of-mouth, and now you want to grow your business online. But your homepage sounds awful. You don’t want anyone to see it, because it doesn’t sound like you. Or worse, you’re worried that you may sound corny, slick, or like everyone else.

Business owners ask me all the time, “Stella, can you just take a look at what I’ve written, and tell me what you think?” So after the training, I’ll host Part II – Website Makeovers… where a handful of business owners will get a LIVE website page makeover with me (you’ll have the chance to submit something after you sign up).
Even if you don’t do a makeover, you can learn a lot just by listening in… and get tips that you can use right away to improve YOUR website and nail your message. People tell me, “just attending one of your free training calls changed the way I write EVERYTHING… I hung up the phone and told my husband – I need to work with Stella… I finally feel how this marketing stuff applies to ME, thanks to her!”
