Great Writing Lesson #1

Here’s the deal. Writing about your business is a different kind of writing than what we learned in school. And great writing for your business is a different kind of writing than what most people are doing online.

This is our first Great Writing Lesson:

Great writing is not like the writing we learned in school… and it’s not like the fast food marketing most people use online, either. Great writing is a different animal entirely.

In school, we were taught how to write to inform. That’s a key writing skill – it’s also called writing content. But if you want people to buy from you, you are going to need four other writing skills:

  1. Writing to win attention
  2. Writing to resonate
  3. Writing to make people feel
  4. Writing to ask people to take action

These are the four big skills when it comes to writing copy.

If you want to build an audience and make money online, you need both content writing and copy writing skills.

In other words, we’ve got our work cut out for us. But don’t sweat it. I’ve got your back. And if you’re willing to do the work, I’m willing to teach you what I know about making this writing thing be more enjoyable – and profitable – for you.
