What if your homepage attracted people with plenty of money and self-esteem that you LOVE working with? By the time you got them on the phone, they’d already convinced themselves that you’re the one to help them. Your conversation was about the result they wanted – that you knew you could help them get – and the only question was “when do we start?”

This isn’t some fantasy – it happens to me all the time. I rarely have to “sell” people into my production labs, because it’s clear on my homepage what I’m about and the results I help my clients get.

But I didn’t always write in this way.

In fact, when I started out four years ago, my homepage attracted people who weren’t a great fit for my business. I attracted people who weren’t in action. People who ignored my advice. People took up WAY more time than they paid me for. (Maybe you can relate?)

What I came to realize was that all that was because of my homepage (and, frankly, my boundaries about who I let into my business).

You see, I learned the hard way that you have TOTAL CONTROL over the clients you attract into your business. If you’re just starting out, you may have to kiss a few frogs (let’s get real, you need the money, right?). But over time, if you find that you are attracting people who don’t do the work, pay you on time, or take action…. The only person with the power to change that situation is you.

And it all starts with your homepage.

The way I see it, your homepage is the start of a really great conversation. It’s what potential clients see when they “check you out” online… and it’s also the place where your list-building starts. So it’s vital that your homepage signals that you don’t just work with anyone with a pulse and credit card.

Because you DON’T just work with anyone… do you?

What I keep seeing is business owners with really cheap-looking copy on their homepage.

You use words like “struggle” and “overwhelm”… and guess what kind of people those fast-food words attract?

Yep, that’s right… potential clients who stuck in a quagmire of low-action, low-trust, even low-integrity. They shop for things based on price, not value. They aren’t really invested. They don’t have much “skin in the game.” And they aren’t even all that joyful for you to work with.

Or maybe you are working with the great clients already… and now, you want to build your list. You want to build out your online platform. You want to leverage your work. But your homepage looks and sounds like everyone else online. It doesn’t sound like you. And frankly, you’re embarrassed by it.
